The apartment is very comfortable and perfect for my needs. The hosts are excellent, friendly, helpful and responsive. Kitchen is well-equipped for both stovetop cooked and microwaved meals. Refrigerator was large enough for my supplies. The grounds are quiet, picturesque and pleasant for eating outside, or watching the nearby ducks in their pond. Entrance and parking is easy. If I am in the area again, I would stay here again. Thank you! |

Fijn verblijf voor twee personen, hartje Normandie. Binnen 1 uur bij alle bezienswaardigheden. Schoon verblijf, van alle gemaken voorzien en in een rustige omgeving. Het contact met Ioana was vriendelijk, behulpzaam en correct. We kwamen niets tekort. De prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding is goed. Een aanrader voor mensen die Normandie willen ontdekken.

Wij hadden een fijn en aangenaam verblijf bij Loana en Howard. Vriendelijke en attente hosts die op elk moment aanspreekbaar zijn en voor je klaar staan, hetzij voor hulp of voor een leuke babbel. Het huisje is precies zoals je op de foto's ziet, ruim en gerieflijk. Alles is aanwezig voor een fijn verblijf, ook indien je zelf wil koken. De enige opmerking die wij hebben, maar dat is heel persoonlijk, is dat het bed voor ons te klein was. Het huisje is perfect gelegen om het departement La Manche (D-Day stranden..)te verkennen...je hebt wel voor alles je auto nodig, maar winkels liggen wel dicht in de buurt. Kortom, La Petite Saule in Manoir de Saule is een aanrader om tot rust te komen en tegelijk mooie uitstapjes te maken!

We just spent two wonderful weeks at Manoire de Saule, outside of St Lo, Normandy. Howard and Ioana were warm and welcoming hosts, as well as informative about the sites to see in St Lo area, Mont St Michel and the Normandy Landing Beaches. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped, perfect for cooking simple meals. Everything was provided including cleaning materials. The property was spacious with a connecting garden and a pool. We chose this apartment because of its central location for those historic locations. But most of all, we selected the area for cycling. We were not disappointed; the rural roads were smooth, the countryside was charming, and the villages offered delightful cafes to replenish our energy. We even found the drivers were courteous to cyclists! If interested, ask Ioana for details on our routes. |

I had no idea Basse Normandie was so lushly beautiful - and Ioana's wonderful gite (we stayed in the La Pettite Saule) slots nicely into the general splendour. We were in relatively easy reach of Mont St Michel, the port town of Granville with its excellent seafood restaurants. We also explored the northern reaches of the Cotentin peninsula, notably Cap de la Hague and environs. The peninsula is a joy for birdwatchers, lighthouse enthusiasts and brocante hunters alike, and less touristed than Brittany.
As for the gite, it is well-run, perfectly clean. A neat little kitchen and living/dining room, comfortable double bed up the stairs, a selection of board games and an well established garden on the doorstep. Every night I just stood at the doorway absorbing the clean countryside smells, the bird songs, and the sight of glorious sunsets. Ioana's advice on sites and practicalities was very useful. Wonderful!! |

We have enjoyed our first family holiday so much. The gite itself is lovely although our 2 & 4 year olds have spent most of the time running around the gardens. They had to be bribed away from the swings and pool with meals!

We rented a superb 2 bedroomed self catering gite that was furnished to a high standard. The Gite is set in a beautiful surrounding that includes a swimming pool and other activities. The were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The gites location near St. Lo makes it a perfect base to visit Bayeaux and the D Day landing beaches. I highly recommend this gite to those looking to enjoy the historic Normandy sites. |

We were warmly welcomed by the English owners, Ioana and Howard Baker and their two sons, who live on the estate as well. The owners are very helpful and do their utmost to help you in the best manner.
Of the two gites available we stayed at the spacious 4-5 persons cottages. The photos presented on the website provide a good and realistic picture of the gites. The gites is well maintained, modern and clean. You can argue about the lack of a dishwasher but on the other hand it has a washing machine. WIFI is available.
To enjoy the lovely weather you can eat outside or enjoy the sun in your (private) garden. Besides there are shared facilities such as a playground, swimming pool, table tennis, petanque field, football field. Overall it is quiet and there are no disturbing noises.
Manoir de Saule is located slightly north of Saint-Lo. At some 7km there is a large shopping centre. More interesting it is located in the heart of the Manche. Therefore is very well located to explore this department: in the East the WWII beaches, cemeteries and museums, in the North Cherbourg and its coastline and in the West Coutances, Granville and Le Mont Saint Michel.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay. We highly recommend to stay at Manoir de Saule and we wish the Baker family all the best running the estate. |

We had a fantastic stay at one of the Gites. It was a great location for visiting all that Normandy has to offer (which kept both ourselves and our 5 and 7 year old very entertained) as well as being within easy access to the ferry ports at Caen and Cherbourg. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts and they provided us with a lot of useful local information. The Gite was spacious and very clean, with comfortable beds and was equipped with everything we needed for the week. We really enjoyed the pool which was also lovely and clean. We had a great holiday and hope to visit again. |
